Can The Lord Bring Revival?

Can The Lord Bring Revival?

I am working on the teaching for the next Redeemed Women Gathering on April 3rd which has me spending much time in Ephesians, and as I have considered what God has done and can do, the Asbury Revival has been taking place in Kentucky. You have probably read much about what has happened there and about the events happening around the world. So many believers are excited at what our Father is doing to increase His kingdom and strengthen the younger people who have grown up in a world hostile to the things of God. Along with this excitement we see those who are not sure if God is in this move of the Spirit. I understand the cautiousness of some who are wary of what is taking place. In I John 4:1 we read, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” This is always an appropriate response to these movements which are new within the Church, and I get it. In order to conclude, one must examine the evidence. One issue that has disturbed me regarding this movement of The Holy Spirit is that some refuse to look at the evidence and admit that God can move in our day to bring others to Himself. Some are so jaded that they believe nothing like this can take place in our time. This does not go with what I have studied about Church history and what I have learned that the Bible teaches about God’s desire to increase His kingdom upon the earth. Does God not care about people anymore? Is not the God we serve full of grace and still desiring that any should perish? He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so it would be consistent with His Word that He will continue to move upon the earth as He sees fit to bring about His purposes. I am so thankful that I am alive at this moment to witness the moving of the Holy Spirit sent from the Father to testify of the saving power of Jesus Christ. Is this the Final Awakening? I do not know, but I do know that God is good, and He loves us. I have listened and read the testimonies of those who attended the Asbury Revival. I am watching the move of God around the world and believe that our Lord is doing a new thing in our time. He is raising up more of the faithful to serve Him in spirit and in truth. What a glorious thing to behold! God is not done with this world yet, therefore let we who have prayed and believed in all that He has told us be inspired to keep our eyes on Him, continue to be faithful, and aid in whatever way we can to further the kingdom. In my humble opinion this is a fantastic time to be alive. As Paul writes in Ephesians 1:18-19, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.” He is still at work. Amen!
